Printmaking Artist-in-Residence

Norwalk, CT

The Center for Contemporary Printmaking Solo Residency Program offers Artists-in-Residence the unique opportunity to live and work inside the specifically designed Helen Frankenthaler Printmaking Cottage. Over the course of our fast paced one to two week program, artists will dedicate themselves to a single project with the goal of completing that project before departing the residency.

We are currently accepting applications for our Winter Session (November 2026 – February 2027). Application Deadline is July 1, 2026.

Dresden Residency Exchange

Dresden, Germany

During this month-long, communal residency, artists work at Grafikwerkstatt Dresden, a professional fine art printmaking shop, a meeting place for contemporary artists, and a space to foster artistic collaboration. The pace is slower, and artists are encouraged to participate in cultural activities. Only current members of the Center for Contemporary Printmaking may apply, and applicants must be proficient in intaglio, lithography, or relief.

We are currently accepting applications for our 2026 Exchange (September 27 through October 24, 2026). Applications for 2026 Residency Exchange are closed. Email info@contemprints.org to be notified of details for 2027.

Past Residents

The Center for Contemporary Printmaking has had the honor of hosting dozens of talented artists since the residency program began in 2003. Meet some of our past artists-in-residence and watch recordings of lectures they presented to our community.
