Press Out Hate is an effort to help CCP move forward towards more equity and access in our maker space to bolster our commitment to working towards creating a more equitable and inclusive organization. CCP invited local non-profit community-focused organizations to take part in a hands-on printmaking workshop expressing what “press out hate” means to them.
Prints created as a result of these workshop will be on view in CCP’s Grace Ross Shanley gallery between May 1st and May 22nd with a culminating Press Out Hate open house and community hands-on printmaking day. The public is invited to attend, try printmaking activities, partake in raffles, and view the prints that have been made by members of the community.
PANEL DISCUSSION
Thursday, May 19th from 5:30 – 6:30 PM
Panelists: David Green, Executive Director, Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County; Duvian Montoya, Artistic and Educational Director at the Norwalk Art Space; Edson Rivas, Executive Director, Triangle Community Center
During the panel discussion, the panelists will talk more about community building through projects reflecting on how Press Out Hate and other programs provide creative opportunities for expression through learning a traditional art making practice. We will hear from local leaders in the creative community about the ways artists in our area are making use of various arts for community building and development and how this makes positive change in a community.
