Funding for artists wishing to register for workshops at CCP is available through the Binnie Birstein Memorial Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are available to anyone who wants to take a workshop but who might not otherwise without financial support. Both members and non-members of CCP may apply. Scholarship recipients are expected to attend all the classes in the workshop. You are expected to provide your own materials beyond those provided in the workshop.

Binnie Birstein was a painter, printmaker, teacher and active member of the Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CCP) for many years. It was Binnie’s wish to continue to support working artists at CCP with scholarships for classes, which is the goal of this fund drive. A small team of artists is working with the Center for Contemporary Printmaking and will be creating prizes and cash awards for artists who exhibit at CCP.
Known for her energetic paintings and prints, Binnie was always generous, with a quick wit, warm smile and enthusiasm. She showed her artwork nationally and for many years was a regular presenter and teacher at the International Encaustic Conference in Provincetown. She spent decades sharing her knowledge, supporting and encouraging others. She loved the excitement of CCP’s annual Monothon print week fundraiser, pulling prints and working with the creative team of artists and master printers.
Sadly, Binnie passed away from pancreatic cancer on May 9, 2018. She will be sorely missed.
Please support this fund, for the love of Binnie!
