Workshop Description: Discover The Painterly Print, a groundbreaking intaglio technique developed by Bradley that brings a fresh, expressive approach to printmaking. This innovative process allows artists to paint directly onto a textured surface and effortlessly transfer their work to a printmaking plate using polymer plastics. The result is a richly detailed print with dynamic tones, textures, and line work—achieved with surprising speed and simplicity. Ideal for both seasoned printmakers and those new to the medium, this workshop opens the door to creative freedom through an accessible and efficient process.

Direct Transfer Intaglio is an innovative technique developed by Bradley. Benefits include:

  • Being able to capture all the subtle tones and textures of painted brush marks within the tradition of etching.
  • The resulting print is not reversed!
  • Fast process: the intaglio plate for editioning within one hour.

Bradley gave an artist talk and demonstration of this technique at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking in July 2025. Watch the recording on YouTube.

Participants will have the opportunity to purchase a take-home kit from Bradley at the end of the workshop so they can continue working with Direct Transfer Intaglio on their own.

Workshop Location: Downstairs Studio
