This two day workshop is an exploration into the process of reduction linoleum block printing. The process involves alternately gouging and printing a single block to develop an image in overlapping layers of color. By the end, there is very little left of the surface of the block such that the edition can never be reprinted or created. This process is great fun and yields exciting results, rich in color. Participants will be printing on the press with the option of hand-printing, using water-soluble inks and Japanese paper. Each participant will complete a small edition made from 3-4 layers of color/passes of the block.
