Join us for a lunch hour discussion about paper with Lauren Pearlman Sugita, owner of Paper Connection International in Providence, RI, and Christopher Shore, Staff Master Printer at CCP. The discussion will cover paper both in the Eastern and Western traditions and how they can be used by printmakers specifically and artists in general. Topics will include handmade versus machine made, fibers, colors, and what papers are best used for different techniques. The discussion will conclude with a Q&A between Lauren, Chris and the participants.

Lauren Pearlman Sugita has been a paper researcher, provider and educator for close to 30 years. In 1995, she founded Paper Connection International, LLC, a Providence based importer and distributor of specialty art papers. Paper Connection has become an essential paper resource in North America- stocking mainly papers made from sustainable fibers.
