In this two part demonstration, Kevin Frances will be showing how to create a single color woodblock print, printed in the Japanese style with water-based inks. In the first session, participants will be shown how to transfer drawings onto the woodblock, and how to carve the block using hand tools. Part two will be focused on reviewing paper and inks in preparation of printing the woodblock. After each demo, Kevin will be sharing images to help with participant notes , and will be available for questions and troubleshooting via email.
Please note, this is a 2 part class, taking place on 2 different days via Zoom.
