This workshop is designed for beginner printmakers wanting to learn the foundations of stencil making using silkscreens. Participants will begin by creating prints using direct painting with drawing fluid and screen filler, an exposure-less alternative using photographic emulsion. The workshop will progress to exposing images onto screens using photographic emulsion and drawn films. Participants will walk away with a solid understanding of how to expose screens, plan subject matter, registration, printing, and reclaiming screens. Instruction will also provide useful tips to try printmaking from home without the use of an exposure unit.
