MALGORZATA OAKES, born and raised in Poland, graduated from the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art & Design in Wrocław, Poland in 2001 with MFA in Printmaking. She is an accepted candidate to a PhD Scientific Program in Arts with the concentration in Printmaking at the Academy of Arts & Design in Wrocław, Poland (Studies in English). Her processes primarily specialize in experimental, contemporary printmaking specifically Non-toxic Intaglio and Electro-etching.She primarily works with waste materials while producing her prints. She focuses on searching for alternative approaches in creating new matrices out of everyday objects and recycled materials. She searches for ability to find new ways of repurposing elements found in nature, treating them as a layer of print or using them in the process of handmade paper.
